about.

I love my wild little life and am fortunate to share it with the most amazing man, a supportive family, great friends and two beautiful kitties. My nickname is Chatty, which makes perfect sense since I rarely shut up, which is why I decided to start blogging.

I am a foodie and have been for as long as I can remember. I love copious amounts of fruits and vegetables, BACON, eggs, peanut butter, any form of a carbohydrate, granola, seafood, a good steak, and the occasional bag of candy. I enjoy eating more than I like cooking, but that's because I'm horrible at it. I am though, trying to get better. I try to follow the 90/10 rule. 90% nutritious, clean foods and 10% bacon, and other things that make me want to shout from the roof tops with joy. Life to too short not to enjoy the simple pleasures in life.

I love to run. I live for it. But it hasn't always been that way. Up until about a year ago, I had always been the fat kid. I've struggled with weight my entire life until January 2010. Something, somewhere just clicked. I wanted to be in control, I wanted to change, and THIS was the time. I joined Lifestyle Family Fitness and never looked back. I started slowly at the gym, and counted calories using an "Calorie Counter" on my phone. I was amazed that eventually little changes turned into pounds lost and that was I transforming physically and mentally into a new person. In April, I was encouraged by a friend to take up running. I distinctly remember laughing and telling her "I will only run if I am chased." But, soon enough, without me even realizing it, my walks turned to jogs, my jogs to runs, and my runs to sprint intervals. I ran my first 5K at the end of April and I was hooked. The euphoric feeling you get when you cross a finish line is like nothing I had ever felt and I couldn't wait to do it again. I continued to train and completed my first half marathon that November.

My newest goal stemmed from my love of group fitness. Group fitness was where my weight loss began, especially with the help of one of the instructors, and my now dear friend Lorie. She never gave up on me, even when I left a class because it was "just too hard for me". She gave me the greatest gift. A new healthy lifestyle that lead me to the person I am proud to be today. With this in mind, I attended the Les Mills BodyATTACK certification in May. Now, it's PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! I love to be on stage, it's a high similar to a finish line that can't be described. I hope to one day give someone what Lorie gave to me.

That's basically it. I hope you enjoy my blog, and try not to be too thrown off by my randomness and occasionally weirdness. It's what keeps life interesting.
